Q) So when do I need new tyres?
A) The legal minimum tread is 1.6mm across the central 75% of the tyre. There must be no cuts greater than 6mm across a tyre or any bulges on the sidewall of a tyre. For a car travelling at 60mph the tyre must disperse gallons of water per second in order to maintain the only point of contact the car has with the road. This gets harder with every mm of tread that has been worn away.
Q) How do I check my tread depth?
A. The easiest way is by using your Rubber Man tread depth indicator. Don't have one? Request here. There are many other legal requirements and regulations that need to be followed.
